    A pretty girl - OK
A handsome girl - I think it's possible. (meaning proportions)
A pretty boy - sounds odd.
    A cute child. - OK

A native speaker uses these words only for specific reasons.

You can say, "She's a handsome woman." usually to describe a lady "of a certain age".
You'd never use handsome to describe a girl.
Similarly, if you say, "He's a pretty boy." then you're usually describing a boy who prefers boys to girls.

Girls often describe boys as "cute" and boys invariably describe girls as "cute".
Men and women would hardly ever describe each other as cute.

Babies and very young children of either sex are always cute.

    Hope this helps.
