    Question would u plz explain these expressions?

    Would u plz explain these occupational expressions, because I haven't found out their exact meanings.

    1- dead stock
    2- light reading/literature
    3- a fresh water sailor
    4- be for a high jump
    5- a high-powered salesman
    6- sorry bargain
    7- a party line
    8- bed and breakfast
    9- fire and sword
    10- power and shot
    11- stocks and shares
    12- a run of -the-mill-job
    13- an armchair job
    14- back starirs gossip
    15- boat train
    16- born-sailor
