What is the difference between the traditional grammar and the prescriptive grammar? Are they the same?

    Re: traditional and prescriptive

Prescriptive grammars lay down rules and say what is right and wrong, contrasting with descriptive grammars. Traditional grammars tend to be prescriptive so the terms can be used with the same meaning, and often are, though traditionally English grammar looked to Latin for rules and it is possible to be presciptivist without doing that.
