    Talking remainders OR leftover ?

    Hi~~
Would you help me how to say this naturally please?

A: I want to close term deposit account.
B: ok, here you are $500.
A: Let me have $100 in cash and please put remainders (Or , leftover) in my web-account.

A: We should divide our group assignment now, we just have 3days left.
B: But John hasnít come out group meeting.
B: Why donít we just first arrange our part, for the remainders (Or , leftover) , let him take care?

    Re: remainders OR leftover ?

    Use "remainder" (singular) for both.

    Put the remainder in...
Let him work on the remainder...

For leftover, this would work: Here's $20 to buy lunch for you and me. Put whatever's left over in the tip jar.

I made six servings, but we didn't eat it all. I put the leftovers in the refrigerator to have for lunch at work.

    Many thanks for your help~~

so,,, I can use "leftover" when it comes to FOOD.
And the others I have to use "remainder".
    Is my understanding correct?

    Re: remainders OR leftover ?

I bet the other creative people who come here could find a way to use "leftover" with other things, but that's how I would be most likely to use it.

If you have other sentences, post them and we'll see if either word could work in thost situations.
