    search adjective

Is there an adjective or a expression to say:
Someone who looks for an item everywhere but in the end i was on him the whole time.

    For example,
I can't find my glasses. I look in the kitchen, living, bedroom, and garage. Then I realize they were on me the whole time.

    What about, forgetful, absent-minded?
