    what is the correct sentence

    (1) We completed our two projects in a like manner.
    (2) We completed our two projects in alike manner.

    what is the correct sentence ?? why ??
    and please is there any way to investigate such sentences ???

    The phrase "a like" and the word "alike" do not mean the same thing, and they are not used the same way.
    alike:
    They are alike. (They are the same.)
