    we say:

    (1) It is necessary to have a farm or land for your town
    OR
    (2) It is necessary to have a farm or a land for your town

    As far as I'm concerned both are correct, but the second sounds better

    (I am not a teacher) In #2, "a land" is not correct.

    For the same reason we don't say "This town needs a road and a water" - We say "This town needs a road and water" (or "some water")

    The context in which "a land" would be correct is this: "I came from a land far, far away."

    You're right, sushuma!

    I changed my mind after I consulted the dictionary. The word "land" is uncountable. A piece of land is correct. As result, the first one is the CORRECT answer.


    It is necessary to have a farm or land for your town.
