My grades in math weren't high enough. I couldn't live up to the goals my parents set for me.
What is the meaning of the underlined part?

    Re: meaning

I was not able to succeed in reaching the goal set by my parents.

'live up to' is a phrasal verb which means, "succeeding, achieving and fulfilling",
To be as good as something.
