"I've got knickers here, I've got knickers there and I've got knickers at home!

    Hi there,

Even though I'm a native speaker of English, I just wanted to know whether you see the repetition of the word 'knickers' in this sentence as justified, as it was said by my Spanish fiancée, therefore a non-native speaker of English.

Any contributions will be most appreciated.

He is quoting a movie or a joke. It sounds like something from a Groucho Marx comedy film.

    He is teasing you . . . .

My fiancée was the one who said it, and she wasn't teasing, as she was talking about her own knickers at the time!

Apparently, she has knickers at several places.

Do you see this repetition as natural though?

Why not? Maybe she likes the sound of the word 'knickers'.

    It's natural enough.
