    Verb strings of the 2 sentences here

    Hi all

    would anyone please tell me what are the verb strings of the following sentence;

    * His wife had had an affair with his mother.

    * Could a loving father of three with a new life ahead of his really be capable of attempted murder?

    * The players must have been sitting on the edge of their seats!

    1- which one is the auxiliary & the lexical verb?

    2- are they finite or non-finite form of verbs? if possible, why?

    important

    Many thanks.
