    Passive voice

    Hello
Iwanted to ask you if you can confirm me this grammatical point in englishcan we use the verb to win in the passive voice?eg brazilia won the world cup in 1995............active voicethe world cup was won by brazilia in 1995 ......passive voiceis the above sentence correct or not; there are some who say that the verb is not an action verb (to win) and consequently we cannot use it in the passive voice. Can u please cofirm this for me at your earliest convenience??also i wish to request you to kindly confirm whether in expressing concession with the conjunction "although" we are oblidged to follow it with a nominal phrase?
    thanks and best regards

It's absolutely alright to say so, but only in terms of grammar:

The World Cup was won by Brazil in 1995.

It was in 1994 that the World Cup was won by Brazil, not in 1995.
