    Smile Remotely conceivable?

"Life cann't exist in space, at least not in any form that's remotely conceivable to us."
I'm a little confused what 'remotely' means in the sentence above. When it comes to 'something is remotely conceivalbe to us' alone, I thought it means that that's unconceivable to our level of understanding. But it makes no sense here. I think the author means at least not in any form that we can understand, not cannot. So, please help me. Thank you very much!
