    2.I had joined in XXX on 1st jan 2008 . reply

    IF you have recently joined, use the present perfect tense:

    I have joined in xxx...

    Otherwise:

    I joined...

    No need to use the perfect tense forms. Just:

    I joined XXX on 1st January 2008.
