    what structures should I use in written english

    sub+need +to be+verb+extension,sub+need+verb+ing+extension or sub+need to be+vere.p.p+extension,sub+is+needed+to be+verb.p.p or sub+is+to be+verb.p.p. For example 1. My hair needs cutting on this very day.2. My hair needs to be cut on this very day.3. My hair is needed to be cut on this very day.4. My hair is to be cut on this very day

    #1, 2, 4 are formal.

    Informally, say: I have/need to have my hair cut today.
