    me or I....again

    Hi

Can you please guide me on the following?

Is it 'he has more than me', or '...more than I'?

I cannot always seem to decide which is an object and which a subject pronoun in some instances.

I think it is 'more than I' as I can put the word 'have' on the end

    Am I confused?

......p.s. have just looked and thought again - depending on the meaning, it can be either can't it?

It is 'me' - i.e. object - if I mean for e.g that 'he has more than me helping him', but subject if I mean 'he has more of something than I have'

Have I just answered my own question?

    Thanks

than is a preposition which is usually followed by an object.
The object pronoun in singular first person is me.

    better than me

    Just a student.

I think the full sentence would be He has more than I do?

Very confusing! Both seem to be possible, according to COCA. "I", however, has way more entries.

I was taught that, if it's on COCA or BNC, it's correct. Sometimes, however, even appearing on COCA, a given expression is not very used.

Don't believe everything they say - that's my advice.
Those two massive projects are of great help to teachers and language researchers, but not so to language learners. Of course, it advisable that you search through it, but don't take everything you find there for granted that it is correct.
