    ''ceased to be''

    The Soviet Union has ceased to be a threat.

    hi,
    I'd like to know what's the most common and natural way to say this, please.
    thanks.

    I am not a teacher.

    ceased to be;
    is not a threat any more;
    is no longer a threat;
    is not threatening any more.

    But, in my opinion, ceased to be, is quite common and natural.
