Hello, I would like to find out the preposition that should follow the verbs hurt or ache to express the cause of this feeling.
For example, can I say that my back hurts "for" the effort or I should use another preposition such as "from"? Or: his stomach aches for laughing or his stomach aches from laughing?
I can't find this answer anywhere. Can you help me?
I am not a teacher.
You could also say "My back hurts because of the effort."
Or "My stomach aches because of the laughing."
