    Question Conduct, countable or uncountable

    Hey Teachers:
This is my first post on this forum. Would you please answer the question below and please feel free to correct any mistake I have made.

My question is: When the word "conduct" is used as "the way a person acts, especially from the standpoint of morality and ethics", whether it is countable or uncountable, e.g. the above infringing conduct or ~conducts.

    Thanks in advance.

    Re: Conduct, countable or uncountable

    Dear Kyle:

Conduct is the word you want:

Her conduct can always be counted on to be above reproach.

The conduct of the schoolchildren was improving as they gained in maturity.

(Discussing examples of the behavior of several people on different occasions). The above mentioned conduct shows us how our personal ethics can affect an entire corporation.

    I hope this is helpful,

    Petra
