Question Team and Teams... Singular or Plural?

Can TEAM be used as plural or have I to use teams?

I am not really sure about that because my Oxford Dictionary says that TEAM can be used both in singular and plural tenses. But if I write TEAMS my text editor do not correct it.

For example 'I worked for diverse teams' is it correct?

    ???

'I worked for diverse teams' is it correct? Yes it is, but it would be better with present perfect, 'I have worked for...'.
