I was very thrilled to be in his company, and indeed Van's. They were the two masters, and I was the student. However, student or not, I was stillappalledby Dylan's band and I told him so. "With the exception of Carlos Santana, a bunch of extras from the Seventies," I think was the phrased I used.
Bono is saying that in Dylan's band everyone except Carlos Santana played like a cheap hire-out stuck in the musical styles of the 1970's.
This is what normal conversation can sound like: a lot of fluff gets omitted.
No offence abaka, but you seem to use a different variant of English than me.
That's a different conversation, but the original post had "everyone have". When I copied it in my response, I marked the error in red. Then the original post was edited to say "everyone has", probably to correct a simple typo. As you can see if you read that topic from start to finish, I have already been given hell by another participant. Since I didn't realize immediately what was going on (that the original post had been edited), I attempted to justify myself at first, and wound up looking even more foolish.
