    Feeling lucky?

A boy goes out surfing in bad weather conditions and nearly gets hurt and the other boy later says to him: Feeling lucky, weren't you?

    Does this phrase mean

    -You overrated yourself

-You are lucky to still be alive

    or something else?

    Thanks a lot!

It implies both those things. It means 'you should have known - before you started - that you were taking a big risk'.
