    farther away

    Dear Teachers,

I read this from The Decline and Fall of Practically Everybody by Will Cuppy:

"During his reign of fourteen years, the outlying provinces are said to have prospered. They were farther away."

What does "they were farther away" imply?

    Re: farther away

They were farther away from the center of power. (Farther away than other provinces.)
