    in our own right

    Hi

It's about a band: We went to America, where we were just getting into arenas in our own right for the first time.

--- I'm not sure how to interpret "in our own right". I know what it means, but maybe there is some other way to say the same, but differently (without "in our own right")

I cannot say more than this:
in own right - Idioms - by the Free Dictionary, Thesaurus and Encyclopedia.

Maybe there is a humorous side to it: to get in without permission.

It means 'because of their own ability', 'on their own merits', not as a support act for a more famous band.
