    1a) Which one's correct: Solve or Resolve?
    1b) Which one's correct: Solution or Resolution?

    2) Which one's correct: South Europe or Southern Europe?

    1 a/ and b/ depend on context, that is to say that all the words are correct in the proper situation.

    2/ Both are correct, Southern Europe is more usual.
