    fling and interlude

    hi teachers,

    Could you tell me if 'fling' and 'interlude' can have the same definition in term of relationship?

    Yes. A brief romantic affair. A "fling" definitely implies no intention responsibility on one or both sides; the attraction is often more physical than emotional. An "interlude" is probably irresponsible, but the emphasis is that it was romantic and joyful, and came between more serious things.
