what does it mean of "would have had to"?

It has enough funds to pay the coming month's salary. This infact good news because had there been no funds, the employees would have had to work without pay.

Thumbs up Re: what does it mean of "would have had to"?

    Hi,Have the answer :-
    Let me break it.
would have had to=would have+had to
=would have+past participle of have to
Let me describe the first part:(would have)
"would have" generally used to describe something which has really not happened but there was the possibility under certain condition.
e.g:-If my exam was not there i would have played with you.
It means you are not going to play but if ur exam was not there it was possible.Think of some sentence like this in ur native language and then in english
The general form to use would have is would have+past pariciple of some verb. Here you have to use the verb "have to" so u have used would have+ past participle of have to
    i.e would have+had to
    i.e would have had to

    -------------------------------------------------
USING "HAVE TO" IN DIFFERENT TENSE
    In simple present- have to
in present perfect- have had to
    In past- had to
    In past perfect-had had to
    in future-would have to
with "would have"-would have had to

Hope u might have got ur answer.bye bye
