    Correct sentence

    Which one is right? Someone needs to tell us or we are going to fall out over this.

    The couple safe and through to next week are Paul and Holly.

    The couple safe and through to next week is paul and Holly.

    You can say either. There's no need to fall out over it.
    I would use "are" in this context, because both Paul and Holly are responsible for making it through to next week - so you are emphasising each person.

    However, I might say, "Which couple is fifth on the list?" In this case, the emphasis is not on the individuals - you just want the names of the couple.
