    connectors

Hello, I am assisting a Spanish boy with his English, and I have come across a phrase in his English school books which I am having trouble defining, can anyone assist.

The phrase is "connectors of contrast"

By that, they mean connectives (or discourse markers) such as although, though, even though, while, whilst, whereas etc.
