    Animals

    Hi,

    when addressing to animals without knowing their gender, do we us it or she? I've seen both and I'm confused..

    You normally use it in such situations.

    Always use "it" unless the name tells you the gender.

    e.g. A pig would be "it", a sow would be "she" and a boar would be "he".

    A horse - it, a colt - he, a filly - she and so on.
