    Wink clarify?

Could you please help me to know what this paragraf means? I especially have trouble understanding the sentence that I've written in purple!

The whole idea of creating pedestrian streets without the sort of public facilities that might allow you to stop or change a baby , or that demonstrate no link whatsoever with what sustain the town (its Hinterland) or what expresses its existence (the culture it produces ), make such pedestrian streets as false and artificial as open-air shopping malls. Does this fear seem to you to be a vain? Well, any commercial center often seems to proudly name itself as the Center (East , West , 2 etc.) If these remarks are to be seen as mediocre and effortless attempts to mimic the original version , let us hope that the authentic city centers don't set about producing the number threes

    Thanks ina advance

Do you understand the points made in the first 2 sentences?

Then, he is concludes with the opinion that these false street walkways and malls just try to mimic a real city with real streets. He says let us hope that these real commercial centers of cities (authentic) don't start naming themselves as East, West, 2 or 3.

    Re: clarify?

The writing is definitely mediocre. Anyhow, the writer says that the pedestrian streets don't have places where people can change babies.

(The writer puts commas in the wrong places.)

The words "a vain" (in the second sentence) seem intended to be "a vanity" or "in vain" but neither makes sense.

Oh I'm terribely sorry! I was not trying to put a force on you to answer my question quicker. I just wanted to bring up the thread by that stupid and somehow impolite post, to increase the chance of my thread to be seen by advisers. I really appologize
