    Free Association

I am doing a pre-writing for a college english class. This is my 2nd pre-writing for the same topic (we're not allowed to change topics or controlling ideas).

    My Topic is: My son
    Controlling Idea: Disorganized

We have to list 15 free association words but can't use the same free association words as on our previous assignment. How can I come up 15 more? Can you please help me?

I can't think of a way to help anyone free-associate. Relax? Close your eyes? Drink a glass of wine? Listen to music?

    Thanks - tried that.

On the first pre-writing - the instructor told us to do our free association about our TOPIC but this time he said about our Controlling Idea (or maybe I misunderstood him). I've been out of school for 20 years and still learning.

Flip channels and imagine your son doing whatever is happening on the screen, in his usual disorganized -- or organized -- way. Then pick the first word that comes to mind. Repeat as necessary.
