This saying generally goes "Don't throw out the baby with the baby". Do you understand what it means?

hmmm... this one is more familiar, at least, to me:

Donít throw out the baby with the bath water

which means... don't discard something that's worth keeping.

To cut it short: to throw out the baby with the bath water - to discard something valuable along with something not wanted.

I know what is the meaning of "Throw out the baby with bath water"
Means:to lose the good parts when you get rid of the bad parts of something.
But I don't know what yours mean "Don't throw out the baby with the baby"
Perhaps you mean "Don't throw out the baby with bath water".
So, if anyone know some others famous phrases can tell, I will be thankful!
