    light grammar exercise

    Dear teachers,

Would you be kind enough to tell me your thoughts on the following transformations?

    Instead of saying:

1.1. I found out that someone had sent the parcel to the wrong address.

    We can say:

1.2. I found out that the parcel had been sent to the wrong address.

2.2. He told me that the police had arrested the thief.
2.2. He told me the thief had been arrested (by the police).
3.1. The police were questioning the man.
3.2. The man was being questioned (by the police).
4.1. He never expected them to find the bicycle.
4.2. He never expected the bicycle to be found.

    Thank you for your efforts.
