Hello~ Can you help me say this naturally please?

    A: How was your trip?

B: Trip was OK except for the come-back home air ticket.

    A: What happened?

B: I used off almost all of the money without thingking and I realized shortage of buying air-ticket.
So, I had to transfer 3 times to get home for cheap ticket.
I transferred at Honking first and transferred at Taiwan second and transferred at Sydney and then finally got home.

    A: How was your trip?

B: The trip was OK, except for the flight home.

    A: What happened?

B: I ran short of money so I had to buy a cheap return flight with three damn stopovers, first in Hong Kong, then Taiwan, and then Sydney.

(The person to whom you are talking will know your finally destination, since it it is probably your home town.)
