    -Why does England import so many milk products? I am sure she could be self-supporting

    Yes, countries are sometimes given a feminine gender in English. It's not necessary.

    Well, there is for people and usually animals, in which the personal pronouns are different, and nouns (man/woman, ram/ewe, colt/filly, etc.) are usually different.
