    We are leaving a lot of phone messages for each other without actually talking.

    It comes from a children's game called tag, in which one child, who is "It," chases the other children and tries to touch, or "tag," another child. The one who is tagged then becomes It and chases the others.

    Being It is bad, so everyone avoids getting tagged. It's fun.
