    Its - the possessive adjective and possessive pronoun form of the personal pronoun it.

    For example: A book is unusual for its time.
    A bird flirts its tail.

    It can be so:

    It's - correct.
    Its - incorrect (by texting, chatting etc.)

    'It's' is a contraction of 'it is' as in 'It's (it is) cold today.'
    'Its' is a possessive determiner for an object, 'This book has lost some of its pages'. 'Let nature take its course'.
