Do vs Would/Will... myself vs me

    How do you go now?

    How would/will you go now?

Which one is correct between the above two?

Many times I feel that I use do instead of would or will. Please help me in getting over this misconception of mine.

I like to give it to myself.

I like to give it to me.

    Which is correct? and Why?

Thanks in advance for your help

they are both correct. (actually all 3) do you know under what circumstance each would be correct?

I like to give it to myself. you need the reflexive pronoun "myself" with the subject "i".

i like to give it to me.

    He gave me an ice-cream.
I'm on a diet, but I gave myself a treat and had an ice-cream.

Re: Do vs Would/Will... myself vs me

Hmm.. thanks 2006. Now I got it. Let me check if my understanding is correct!

How do you go now? is asked to make us give answers such as 'I go slow(ly) now' or 'I am going to work hard from now on(if taken in a figurative sense)' or
'I shall discuss about it en route to France.' etc.,

'I would go by bike now' answers to the question 'How would you go now?'.

Please let me know. Also how is my usage of 'or' trying to show parallelism?

    Thanks,
    Kiran

    Dear kiran
    Be more careful with your prepositions;
In English, we discuss something and we answer a questuion

Neither is common usage. It's not clear what you mean. Do you mean:

    How do you get around?
    How are you traveling?
    How will you leave?
    How will you get there?

Which one is correct between the above two?

    Neither.

Many times I feel that I use do instead of would or will. Please help me in getting over this misconception of mine.

I like to give it to myself.

Again, the meaning is unclear. Do you mean:

    I like to punish myself.
    I like to keep it.
    I like to serve myself.

I like to give it to me.

    Which is correct? and Why?

Me is wrong. Myself is right. The pronouns myself, himself, yourself, herself, themselves, and itself reflect back to a noun that has already been named. Here, the previous noun is I.

Thanks in advance for your help

How do you go now? Is asked to make us give answers such as 'i go slow(ly) now' possible but not very likely

a..years ago i used to (go by plane)(fly there), but now i'm afraid of flying.
b...i see. How do you go now.

or 'i am going to work hard from now on(if taken in a figurative sense)' no or
'i shall discuss about it en route to france.' etc., no

'i would go by bike now' answers to the question 'how would you go now?'. yes

    thanks,

What mistakes did I make regarding the usage of prepositions?
