    Smile some questions to ask

i would appreciate if you could give me the answers.

1, Here are some ideas to getting a credit card. In this sentence, is the word to a prep. or something else. so a noun and v+ing form followed after to?

2 the usage of in spite of . I saw this sentence 'in spite of these advanges, students have to be careful because interests rates on such cards are ofter higher and have highter penalties if you fail to pay on time. I learned that some not good information followed after the phrase in spite of. i am puzzled of the usage of in spite of.

i wouldn't use "to" here. I would use 'for'.

"in spite of" means 'even though', 'despite'. (jin3 guan3)

    Re: some questions to ask

    hi Jane

Somehow I lost the message you sent me, but I think you asked about "stop by".
"stop by" is very similar to 'swing by', but to me 'swing by' can mean to go there and have a look without actually stopping. (especially by car, bus, bicycle)

Ask again here if you have other questions.

In places I've lived, swing by can either mean stop by or stop by just for a moment:

We're having a party. Why don't you swing by?
I'll swing by to get you on the way to the airport.
