    Articles in project names

    Hi,

Should I use article in project names? What if the name of the project comes from another language like the word "Koira", should I say "Koira-project" or "The koira-project"?

Based only on what you've told us, I'd usually say: "the Koira project."

I'm assuming that Koira is a proper noun. If it's not, use a small k.

If the project name is, itself, a proper name, however, say: "the Koira Project."

    Do not use a hyphen.

Koira is Finnish and means "a dog". It's not a real project name, I just invented it for this question (I didn't remember at first I have a username and password for this forum), but some projects have this kind of names that are actually common nouns but they are not always translated into English if the project is usually known only of its Finnish name.
What about in titles? Can I leave the article out if "The Koira Project" is a title? I have read somewhere that articles can be omitted in headlines but is this the case only in headlines or can the article be left out in a title of a text as well?

Yes, sometimes you can leave it out.
