    Post Usage of "Good"

I have already done 1 test about "Good+ prep.", but I still don't understand sth
Q4 - It was good ____ you to write to them.
    to
    of
    Either could be used here
Q7 - Nothing will destroy it; it will last ____ good.
    to
    for
    Either could be used here
Can you help me explain the meanings of 2 above question
    Thanks in advance!

it was (nice)(helpful) of you to write to them.
your writing to them was a good thing.

    either could be used here
q7 - nothing will destroy it; it will last _for___ good.
nothing will destroy it; it will last 'forever', or more realistically for as long as it is required.

    either could be used here
can you help me explain the meanings of 2 above question
    thanks in advance!

    Ne
ither could be used here. (But you could say: I'm leaving for good.)

Can you help me explain the meanings of the two above questions?
    Thanks in advance!
    Q4:

In good of you, good means kind or generous.
In good for you, good means healthy or nutritious.

    Q7:

    Forever
    is about a continuing condition:

    I'll love you forever.
    It will stand forever.

For good is about a final, irreversible act:

    She said goodbye for good.
They left the village for good.

    So:

He left for good and will be gone forever.

Notice that forever is one word and for good is two words. There's no reason - as in most English rules!
