    correct words

    What is the right word for person who owns a house and rents it to other people for vacation? Is it lessor or renter? I've been trying to find the right word but I'm not sure which to use...

    In BrE we say 'Landlord' or 'Landlady'.

    Formal legal term = lessor

    So, can I say that "Mr X is a lessor of the house" or
    "Mr X is an apartment lessor"
    which would mean that he has apartments which he rents to tourists...
