    overall

    Dear teachers,

    Please read the sentence:

Others deal with a state, a region, a nation or an _____ continent.
    a. entire b. overall
The key is "a". No problem. Can I choose 'b' which means "including everything". Is it because there isn't such a collocation?

Looking forward to hearing from you.
    Thank you in advance.

No, there is no such thing as 'an overall continent'.

    Re: overall

    "entire" means "whole" "all of"

    "overall" means "general"
