    requested to receive/receiving

    He requested to receive/receiving the present his father promised him as soon as possible.

    Should it be 'receive' or 'receiving'?

    Hello Elaine,

    Not "receiving"; but "requested to receive" also sounds odd to me.

    "Asked to receive" would probably be more likely.
