Re: please help its about the parts of speech

A subject noun is a noun that functions as the subject of a sentence. For example,

    1. Max ate the cake.
    2. Did Max eat the cake?

I have neither seen nor heard of the acronym "op", but it fits with object of a preposition:

    3. Max is sitting on the floor.

The noun phrase 'the floor' functions as the object of the preposition 'on'.
