Last night, I sit on the chair wailing his call to me which never works/worked.
Both words in type are fine? Please.
1. Since you start out with "Last night" the verb sit should be was sitting (in past tense.)
2. Is there a typing error in the spelling of wailing? Do you mean waiting?
3. In any case, the word "works" is the one that is more appropriate for the sentence as the sentence is talking about an action that has occured many times in the past. If you were talking about something that happened once in the past, then "worked would be the appropriate choice.
So the sentence could be "Last night, I was sitting on the chair waiting for his call to me - which never works."
