    Question shopping

Is there a difference between "go shopping" and "go to do the shopping"?

ooo oI don't know if the second one is correct, except if you're cleaning different places and then you say : " Y eah I'm doing the shops! "

    Re: shopping

'go shopping' has the sense of a pleasurable outing to buy something special.
'We're going shopping for a dress for Mary to wear to the wedding."

'go to do the shopping' : here, 'shopping' has the sense of the necessary trip to the shops to buy the weekly groceries.
