    "for" and "since"

Can you please tell me how to answer this question correctly:

What is the difference between for and since (present perfect) what is the rule?

    You're welcome to this forum.

Try to think of the following pairs.

For...three days, five hours, one year.
    Since....monday, July, 6 o'clock.

    Try to give other examples.

    Think of it this way. . . . .

For = [quantity of time, e.g. 2 hours, 3 days, etc]

Since = [time specific, e.g. June 4, 2003, midnight, last Wed.]
