    Made of

    What is the difference between 'made of' and 'made up of'? Can you give me two examples and their reasoning?

    "Made of"- The fake pearls were made of plastic. (in their entirety)
    "Made up of"- The corporation is made up of several smaller companies. (conglomerate)
