    pig roast

    Hi

If you mess with the National Rifle Association they will follow you to your pig roast in the middle of your constituency, they will try and take you out of office.

--- Does it mean that they will go after you to the place where you have a barbecue (I guess this is what "pig roast" is), to get their revenge on you? Or maybe "pig roast" has got some figurative meaning???

    (Not a teacher)

No figurative meaning that I can think of.

A pig roast would be a big BBQ. For example, a town celebration or a local group fund raiser could be a pig roast.

So the sentence just means that if a politician opposed the NRA, they will attend the same functions in the politicians home area. Presumably to sabotage the politician.

    Re: pig roast

The politician will attend one of these big barbecues. The NRA will go to the same event. They will spend a lot of money helping the politician's opponent win the next election. The politician who goes against the NRA will have a big challenge in winning the next election.

(That's what it means. Whether it's true or not is another story.)
